Goodwood Gallops report from Tim Costello

First race of the year at Goodwood tonight. I have ridden colder cyclo-cross races, but not many. Into the wind and rain on the finishing straight was so cold. A surprisingly small field for tonight's fun. We caught the 3rds, 4ths, etc., and after a couple of parries I got away with Toby "Mitsubishi" Neave and Jason Edwards. After a few laps we were joined by four more. Toby, myself and Chris Macnamara got away from them and opened up a big gap. The usual dilly dallying before the sprint meant that we were almost caught on the line. 1st Toby, 2nd Chris, 3rd Me in quite a tight sprint.

I am very pleased with how I went, my tactics and the excitement of the race. Lovely sunset on the way back too.
