Coaching and youth/junior road ride
A number of adult riders new to the club have asked in recent weeks if there is any coaching available to help them become more comfortable when riding within a group.
Both Kim and I have spoken about this and we’re offering an informal ride this Saturday starting at 09:00 at the Mercedes dealership on the Bognor – Chi road and running for two hours to specifically help people on this issue and any other skills they may wish to improve on. The ride will run for a couple of hours on and around Goodwood during which, we will be able to stop at convenient points on the route to answer any questions and discuss any future needs for each rider. This I hope will enable us to offer structured sessions to help riders within our adult ranks improve and gain greater enjoyment from our sport. The sessions are open to all members and non members alike and best of all, they’re free. If you’d like to attend or know someone who’s keen to take the sport up, please feel free to contact me using the contact info below.
Now for the youngsters. In the past few months, Kim and I have been running our coaching sessions down at Tangmere and thought that a change would reward the youngsters hard efforts. We have decided to take them out on a mini club ride around the outskirts of Chichester. Our trip will start from Carte Blanche (where we run our regular sessions), starting at 12:00. The map shows the route outline in blue which we intend to use and mostly consists of cycle paths. Any roads we do use will be of low traffic volume and of course, to make the experience seem just like the adult ride, a café stop will take place on route. If your child would like to come along, it is preferable that a parent rides to. The ride will take around 2-2½ hours and if a success, something we might do every so often to give the guys a feel for what the grownups do. (And why should they get all the fun?) Please ensure beforehand the bikes are in good order, they bring a bottle of drink for the ride and any money for double espressos at the cafe.
If any of the above is of interest or you require further info, please get in touch. My mobile 07793 546225 or email@example.com
I can also forward on the route if required.
